Give Kids a Brake….
Stop for the School Bus

Welcome to the Interlake School Division Transportation Department

Our Transportation Supervisor is Jaret Thiessen and he can be reached at 204-467-8730 or 204-461-4491.

Whether your student is new to the division or just new to busing, the staff at the Transportation Department can answer all of your questions and ensure that your students are registered for busing.

Students are assigned to bus routes based on the address where the student lives. Students living more than 1.6 km from their school are eligible for busing. Students living less than 1.6 km from their school are not eligible for busing. In some cases, busing for non-eligible students can be provided.

If you have any questions regarding eligibility for your student please call 204-467-8730.

Information regarding eligibility for busing can be found here – AP 9120 Transportation Eligibility    School Catchment Map

New students to the Division who require busing are required to register with the Transportation Department. This can be done by contacting Lolita McIvor, Transportation Administrative Assistant at 204-467-8730 or by completing the New Student Transportation Form

  • Ice-covered roads and/or snow-blocked roads will require the transportation supervisor and the superintendent to consider canceling bus transportation.
  • Any other weather condition, which may put students at risk, will require the transportation supervisor and the superintendent to consider canceling bus transportation.

Other Emergencies:

Should any other emergency situation arise, the transportation supervisor and the superintendent will determine if the buses should be canceled or recalled.

Individual Route Cancellations:

The bus driver has the authority to cancel busing on a particular route due to unsafe road conditions or any condition that puts the safety of the students at risk. The transportation supervisor will be informed immediately of any such cancellation.
