Student Services Administrator Michelle Procter and Occupational Therapists Julie DeGroot and Christina Rambarran have been leading a divisional Regulation in the Early Years Classroom learning network for educators. The focus of this learning network is for participants to deepen their understanding of regulation, as well as key concepts and strategies used to address the regulation needs of students in the classroom. In the last session on March 3rd, educators were provided with the opportunity to work with colleagues through sample classroom profiles from our division. The growth of educators was reflected in their ability to conceptualize why a student may be having challenges and identify interventions that included language, tools, and visuals that could be infuse within the classroom environment to meet the regulation needs of students. Educators will have an opportunity to learn additional strategies at the next session being held on April 21st.
