The ladies on Lightly Colony sewed 97 pencil cases, each embroidered with a students’ initials and the Canadian flag, for the Buxton Youth Developers school in Guyana. The students then filled the bags with basic school supplies, a class photo and a personalized letter. Teacher bags were also made up for teacher bags.

Laurie Oughton, school principal at Lightly School, will be taking these supplies on a trip to Guyana this week. Along with these supplies she is taking soccer balls, skipping ropes, books and Frisbees.
